This is going to be a short one, apologies!
Cons:
I liked the story we did have, but I didn't find Gene's subplot about quitting origami club to be particularly funny. It tied into the main theme very well, but didn't offer many laughs of its own, if that makes sense.
Pros:
Overall, I'm always a big fan of episodes in which Bob gets to nerd out and be super enthusiastic about something for a bit. So his happiness and enthusiasm about the sailing celebrity really hit the spot. It's pretty funny that Bob had never heard of the man, but once he's told he's coming and he's famous, he's all on board! It's just like Bob to get into hot water immediately by accidentally inspiring the man to quit his life at sea, due to the taste of his burger. It's exactly the kind of silly thing that would happen to Bob, where someone takes exactly the wrong lesson away from what he's saying, but also maybe the right lesson, at the same time?
Quincy was a pretty funny guest character, I liked how over the top all his reactions were, everything from him walking with extreme sea legs, to him forgetting basic societal obligations, to his fun accent, to his rant about how his publicist will be really upset because she works super hard, to the revelation that he's never actually met his publicist, but oh well.
And I'm glad in the end, Bob gave Gene the encouragement to try a little harder. I'm very pro-quitting if something is causing too much pain or stress or just plain isn't fun for you anymore, but at the same time, you might want to give something more of a fair shake before you turn your back on it forever!
8/10
