Parks and Recreation: The Cones of Dunshire (6x09)

Quickest review ever! Go go go!

Leslie wants to get construction under way on her park, but that involves coming to a compromise with Jamm, who wants to wait until Leslie is out of office and then use the funds for something else. Chris can't officially be on Leslie's side, but he comes with her to act as referee. Leslie and Chris end up spending the weekend with Jamm, doing crazy things like singing karaoke from Grease, eating scrambled eggs chopped into fine bits ("authentic" Japanese food, says Jamm), and more. In the end, Jamm says that the funds will be frozen for a year, and if the economy holds, the park can be made. Leslie isn't happy with this. She wanted to start right away, because she hoped that seeing the park built would convince Ann to stay. Chris reveals that he and Ann have already signed a lease on a new house away from Pawnee.

Really funny. My favorite joke is when Leslie and Jamm sing "Summer Lovin," only Jamm does Sandy and Leslie does Danny Zuko. Chris is enormously entertained by this, of course, and he asks for twenty copies of it on DVD. I also liked that although Jamm did eventually compromise, Leslie didn't get everything she wanted at first. For such a funny plot, it ended on a touching note, as Chris goes against his principles to help Leslie get what she wants out of Jamm. I'll be sad to see Chris and Ann leave, but they are paying good tribute to both of these characters.

Ron is getting ready to sell his cabin, and he asks Donna to help him sell it. Tom works on it as well. Tom and Donna set up the cabin very nicely, and a lot of people are interested. However, none of them understand the spirit of the cabin the way Ron understands it. Even though people offer over asking price, Ron gives the cabin to April for eight dollars, because she says she'll use it to get away from the world. Tom and Donna are of course upset.

Again, I loved this! Very cute, very fun, with a surprisingly touching ending. I like April and Ron's relationship, it makes a lot of sense. The couple that wanted to buy the cabin was really funny, and Tom and Donna were hilarious as always.

Ben takes a job at the accounting firm that's been after him for so long. At the job, he's basically worshiped, and is given free leave to do whatever he wants. However, because Chris is leaving, Ben is offered the job of city manager. He has to take the amazing opportunity, so he quits at the accounting firm.

Cute. I liked how welcoming the accounting firm is, but it is clearly too easy for Ben, and it doesn't challenge him at all. I'm glad he's getting a job that more suits his considerable intelligence. The game he makes, called "the Cones of Dunshire," was really funny, and he gifts it to the nerds at the accounting firm.

Alright! That was brief, as promised. All of the plots were very adorable, and I actually have nothing bad to say about this one.

8.5/10
