Going to rapid-fire review this because we have two new episodes to talk about!
Cons:
Bathroom humor isn't really my thing so the stuff about Teddy needing to poop was just kinda... eh... I also in general could have used a greater degree of shenanigans regarding the lost ring. They jump to Teddy eating the ring as the explanation so quickly, but it would have been fun to do more of a scavenger hunt and upend the restaurant looking for it. As it is, Linda just kinda finds it at the last second, anticlimactically.
Pros:
That said, I do enjoy Tina's continuing delusions regarding Jimmy Jr.'s affections. What makes it so funny and cute to me is that Jimmy isn't a bad person stringing Tina along, he just seems sort of indifferent and is just living his life as a kid, collecting colorful rings and goofing off with Zeke. There's something darkly hilarious about these characters being stuck forever at this age as the show continues. The reference to Tina not having a cell phone also made me laugh. This show has been on for long enough that the idea of a fourteen-year-old not having a phone has gotten more and more ridiculous but I hope they never cave and give her that phone!
The other plot features Bob getting stuck in an elevator at the mall with Hugo. This was pretty standard stuff in the beginning, with these two hating on each other, but things take an interesting turn when Hugo realizes that he is being sabotaged and attacked by food court people who are mad at him for his ruthless inspections. I love that he sounds completely paranoid but then he's actually completely correct that he's being targeted; he really is that annoying that people would come for him in this way!
I liked the resolution here, where ultimately Bob has to admit that Hugo performs an important function for the restaurant industry. They don't really bury the hatchet or become best friends, Bob just grudgingly decides not to be super petty and get revenge on him for his obnoxious behavior. I appreciated the show refraining from doing something too feel-good or sweet here.
Onward to episode fifteen!
7/10
