Bob's Burgers: The Secret Guardin' (16x05)

This one was fun!

Pros:

The Teddy subplot was just the right amount of ridiculous. I like that Kathleen was understanding in the end and had the riff about picking up the wrong little old Irish lady herself in the past. The idea that Teddy could get all the way back from the airport without realizing his mistake is so funny and on point for him. He gets in his head and his single-minded focus can cause some problems for him.

I also liked how easy it was for Teddy to bond with the wrong old lady by uniting in a dislike of Bob; Teddy is very willing to use Bob for his own goals in whatever form that takes. Also shout-out to the joke about Teddy leaving with the coffee mug and insulting it as a bad to-go coffee cup. 

The main plot involves Tina worried about a terrible secret: she broke her mom's little baby butt flap figurine and the replacement is coming in the mail today. However, Louise is high from a dental procedure and might accidentally blab the whole story in her altered state! So, Gene and Tina are trying to keep Louise from talking, while they wait for the mail to come in so the figurine can be replaced.

There was so much to love about this: Louise's elaborate backstories to trick herself into going to the dentist, Linda's little joke about the copay, Louise's behavior when high as a kite... Tina trying to be so bad at making a smoothie that her mom would stay out of Louise's earshot... Gene swaddling Louise up like a baby... I really liked this little moment from Gene when he and Tina were rushing upstairs where he said "love you, Dad! Big fan!" that just made me smile.

And then there was the little comedy button, where it turns out the reason Linda wouldn't leave Louise's side is because she and Bob were worried Louise would blab about getting special treatment and being allowed to stay up late watching horror movies with them. So, both the kids and the parents were monitoring the youngest member of the family for potential loose lips! That was such a fun little moment that I didn't see coming.

In all, I really enjoyed this one, it felt like there were great moments from everybody in the family, and getting to see Louise all loopy was a treat!
